Robert Fripp's Diary

Chez Rushin, aka Center For Creative Aspiration, Atlanta, GA.

01.09

The Carnegie Deli cheesecake sent as a gift on the first date of our Soundscapes Do Dixie tour, waiting for us at the Carrboro Arts Center, continues with us on the road. John Sinks and Biff Blumfumgagne and Rob Rushin and this working player sat around the ground floor kitchen table, pumping it down.

11.35       A grey and drizzling day in Atlanta. A walk down to the neighbourhood coffee provider, and then back to the CCA http://www.creativeaspiration.org/.

Organic coffee is Biff-brewed in the dining room; young Rushins Anna and Ben have demonstrated their karate abilities and I am in fear in case they beat me up.

The last time I visited this facility was for a Guitar Craft Level Three Course directed by Curt Golden. The CCA is an offshoot of Guitar Craft, itself an offshoot of J.G. Bennett’s Sherborne House experiment. A course modeled on the Sherborne model is beginning later this year.

Here, how wonderful it is to have accommodations with heart while on the road.

Special drink of the night

A most enjoyable evening. And in the dressing room below the stage, much to my surprise, I found myself playing King Crimson repertoire (Larks IV and Frame) before going on.

Four Quarters’ Maintainers: Judy, Rob, Dave, Jonathan and Phil.

The FQMs made all the difference. Several of the audience were at the wrong performance and left after the first part. Most audients were generous and supportive.

FQM Jonathan brought Rae’s Homemade Cookies Of Wonderment And Terror. These were eagerly devoured post-performance.

Gentle socialising at CCA upon our returning.
